Harnell won a Grammy Award in 1962 for his dance orchestra recording of Fly Me to the Moon, and received two other Grammy nominations: in 1962 for his Bossa Nova-style arrangement of Fly Me to the Moon, and in 1963 for his dance album Fly Me to the Moon and the Bossa Nova Pops.
